Ingredients

Patty

  • ½ onion
  • 250 g hummus
  • 90 rolled oats, seeded
  • 125 g chickpeas, in a jar
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • cayenne pepper, to taste
  • ½ tsp salt
  • pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil

Burger

  • 4 burger buns
  • 1 onion, red
  • 3-4 pickles
  • 1 handful rocket

Instructions

  1. Finely chop the onion.
  2. Mix the onion, hummus, rolled oats, chickpeas, cumin, cayenne pepper, salt and pepper in a bowl.
  3. Divide the hummus mixture into four equal parts.
  4. Set aside some of the hummus for topping .
  5. Use a burger press to form the hummus into patties.
  6. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  7. Add the olive oil.
  8. Fry the patties for 3-4 minutes on each side.
  9. Turn and another 2-3 Fry on the other side for minutes.
  10. Cut the burger buns in half.
  11. Spread some of the remaining hummus on the bottom halves.
  12. Top the buns with sliced cucumber, red onion rings, patty and arugula leaves.
  13. Place the top half of the bun on top and serve .
