Ingredients

  • 600 g flour
  • 1 package dried yeast
  • 200 ml water, lukewarm
  • 100 g sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 120 g plain yoghurt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp lemon zest
  • 100 g raisins
  • 100 g Dried fruit, candied fruit
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 50 g icing sugar
  • 1 egg yolk, for brushing
  • sesame, or flaked almonds

Instructions

  1. Dissolve the yeast in warm water and add a little sugar.
  2. Set the pre-dough in a warm place for 20 minutes.
  3. Add the egg yolks, yoghurt, softened butter, vanilla, lemon zest and a pinch of salt to the pre-dough.
  4. After and after sieving in the flour.
  5. Knead everything into an elastic dough.
  6. Let it rest again for 30-40 minutes in a warm place.
  7. Mix the dried fruit with the powdered sugar and knead into the finished dough.
  8. Put the dough in a baking pan let it rest for a while.
  9. Grush the yeast bread with a beaten egg yolk.
  10. Sprinkle with sesame or flaked almonds, if you like.
  11. Bake the Easter bread in the oven for approx. 45 minutes at 175° C.
