Ingredients

  • 1 kg apples
  • 200 g semolina
  • 200 g flour
  • 200 g sugar
  • 100 g butter
  • Baking powder, to taste
  • Nuts, and dried fruit for decoration

Instructions

  1. Peel the apples and remove the core.
  2. Grab through a grater.
  3. Sprinkle sugar on top and mix well.
  4. In a mixing bowl, mix together the flour, semolina, sugar, baking powder and butter to form a dough.
  5. Preheat the oven .
  6. Grease a baking tin with the butter.
  7. Pour 1/3 of the batter into the tin, smooth out.
  8. Put half of the apple mixture on top.
  9. Then add another 1/3 of the batter to the apples, followed by the second half of the apples.
  10. Cover with the remaining dough.
  11. Grush the top layer of dough with melted butter.
  12. Preheat the oven to 200°C and bake the cake in it.
  13. Garnish the semolina cake with nuts and dried fruit and serve.
