Savory potato cake with cheese and pan-fried mayonnaise

This hearty comes with a filling of tender mashed potatoes and melty cheese in a pan baked. The recipe is super easy and made from simple ingredients. Nevertheless, the potato cake, which is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, tastes delicious! With a fresh salad and dip, it makes a perfect main course.

Ingredients

Dough

  • 150 g flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 90 ml milk
  • 1 tbsp butter

Filling

  • 2-3 potatoes
  • 2 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 250 g cheese
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • salt, after Taste

Instructions

  1. For the dough, mix the flour with 1 teaspoon of salt in a bowl.
  2. Add the softened butter and warm milk.
  3. Knead everything into a soft, smooth dough.
  4. Wrap the dough in cling film and leave to rest at room temperature for 1 hour .
  5. Meanwhile, prepare the filling.
  6. Peel the potatoes and boil them in plenty of salted water until soft for about 20 minutes.
  7. Drain through a sieve and let drain well.
  8. Put them back in the pot and mash with a potato masher to form a puree.
  9. Add the mayonnaise and mix well.
  10. Grate the cheese on a coarse grater.
  11. Dust a work surface with a little flour.
  12. Roll out the dough into a flat cake about 4-5 mm thick.
  13. Put half of the cheese in the middle .
  14. Spread the mashed potatoes and the remaining cheese on top.
  15. Pull up the edges of the flatbread and press together.
  16. Place the filled flatbread seam-side down and roll out carefully.
  17. Heat a frying pan and grease with ½ tablespoon of oil.

  19. Coat the surface with the remaining oil.
