Refreshing melon ice cream with rum

Slices of melon frozen in a mixture of alcohol, lemon juice and mint make a great summer refreshment.

  • Mint, to taste
  • 4 limes
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 200ml white rum
  • 150ml water
  • 1 melon


  1. Chop the mint and squeeze the limes.
  2. Mix the mint, lime juice, powdered sugar and rum.
  3. Dilute the resulting mixture with cold water and mix thoroughly.
  4. Chop the melon into rough chunks.
  5. In an ice bucket and cover with the rum mixture.
  6. Place the melon in the fridge for half an hour.
  7. Place each slice on a popsicle stick.
  8. Place the melon ice cream in the freezer for another 30 minutes.
  9. The melon dessert with rum on one enjoying a hot summer day.
