Ingredients

  • 4 red onions
  • 5-8 black peppercorns
  • 50 g sugar
  • ½ tbsp salt
  • 200 ml water
  • 65 ml vinegar, 9%

Utensils

  • knife
  • cutting board
  • bowl
  • pot

Instructions

  1. Cut the onion in half rings.
  2. Place the onion half rings in a saucepan.
  3. Add the peppercorns.
  4. Dissolve the sugar and salt in the water.
  5. Bring to a boil.
  6. Add the vinegar and stir.
  7. The Pour the hot marinade over the onions and cover them well.
  8. Leave the onions to stand for about 30 minutes.
  9. The cooled onions can be served immediately or stored in the fridge.

The pickled onions go well with the meat.
