Ingredients

  • 1 jar of cherries
  • 180g butter, softened
  • 200g sugar
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 300g wheat flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • icing sugar, to taste

Utensils

  • hand mixer
  • bowl
  • baking paper
  • flour sieve
  • sieve

Instructions

  1. Mix the butter, sugar and vanilla sugar together at low speed.
  2. Mix in the eggs alternately.
  3. Mix the sifted flour with a pinch of salt and baking powder.
  4. Add the flour mixture to the sugar-egg mixture in 3 batches.
  5. All together process into a smooth dough.
  6. Line the baking tray with baking paper and fill with dough.
  7. Distribute the drained cherries carefully over the dough.
  8. Bake the cherry cake for 50 minutes at 180 ° C.
  9. Sprinkle the finished cake with powdered sugar and enjoy !

For the cherry cake you can use both sour cherries and sweet cherries! Cherry cake is suitable for both summer and winter – it tastes delicious!
