Italian salad dressing with vinegar

The oil and vinegar-based dressing with the rich aroma of dried herbs and vegetables goes well with many salads, especially light meat and vegetable salads. Not only is it a delicious dressing, it also makes a great flavorful marinade for chicken.

  • 180ml olive oil
  • 60ml red wine vinegar, or white wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp oregano, dried
  • 1 tsp basil, dried
  • ¹⁄₂ tsp onion, dried
  • ¹⁄₂ tsp paprika, or Red pepper flakes
  • ¹⁄₂ tsp black pepper
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp lemon juice


  1. Pour the red wine vinegar into a dressing shaker with the garlic powder, oregano, basil, onion powder and paprika.
  2. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Add the lemon juice.
  4. Shake everything vigorously.
  5. Pour the dressing over the finished salad and serve immediately .
