Ingredients

  • 800-900 g beef
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 3-4 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 onions
  • 2 sticks celery
  • 3-4 cloves garlic
  • 3 tbsp paprika
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2500 ml water
  • 4-5 potatoes
  • 2-3 carrots
  • 2 peppers
  • herbs, to taste

Instructions

  1. Cut the beef into small pieces.
  2. In a bowl, mix the sifted flour with 1 teaspoon salt and 1 teaspoon black pepper.
  3. Roll the meat in the mixture.
  4. Heat half the oil in a frying pan.
  5. The Fry the beef in batches so that the pieces are lightly browned on all sides.
  6. Peel all the vegetables and deseed the peppers.
  7. Chop the onions, garlic and celery into small pieces.
  8. Cut the potatoes, carrots and peppers into medium-sized pieces.
  9. The Heat the remaining oil in a saucepan.
  10. Fry the onion and celery for 5-7 minutes.
  11. Add the garlic and continue cooking for 1 minute.
  12. Add the meat to the saucepan along with the peppers, cumin, tomato paste and bay leaves.
  13. Add the water and bring to the boil.
  14. Simmer over low heat under a lid for about an hour and a half.
  15. Add the potatoes, carrots and peppers to the broth.
  16. Simmer until the vegetables are tender, 20-25 minutes
  17. Season the soup with salt and pepper 5 minutes before the end of cooking.
  18. Beef soup before serving, sprinkle with chopped herbs and enjoy with bread.
