Halloween chocolate cupcakes with orange frosting
Ingredients
Dough
- 50 g butter, softened
- 100 g icing sugar
- 1/2 cup vanilla sugar
- 2 eggs
- 160 ml milk
- 160 g flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 70 g cocoa
- 1 pinch salt
Frosting
- 125 g butter, softened
- 250 g icing sugar
- 1 p vanilla sugar
- 2 tbsp orange food colouring
Utensils
- hand mixer
- bowl
- muffin cups
- paper cups
- piping bag
Instructions
Batter
- Beat soft butter, sugar with vanilla sugar and eggs until fluffy.
- Stir in the milk.
- Mix together the flour with baking powder, cocoa powder and salt.
- Fold the flour mixture into the butter mixture.
- Fill the muffin cups halfway with the batter and set aside for approx Bake for 25 minutes at 180°C.
Frosting
- Whip the room temperature butter and vanilla sugar until creamy.
- Stir in the icing sugar and food coloring.
- Fill the cooled muffins with orange frosting using a piping nozzle.
- Decorate the cupcakes with sugar sprinkles as you like.
