Ingredients

  • 500 g rhubarb
  • 500 g preserving sugar, 1:1
  • 1 apple
  • 1 vanilla bean

Utensils

  • knife
  • pot
  • mixing spoon

Instructions

  • Wash the rhubarb, peel and cut into pieces.
  • Scrape out the vanilla bean and add the vanilla pulp and vanilla bean to the rhubarb.
  • Cover with jam sugar and leave for 8-10 hours.
  • It is best to leave it covered in the fridge overnight.
  • Bring the rhubarb to the boil in a saucepan.
  • Peel the apple, remove the core and chop it roughly.
  • Stir the apple pieces under the rhubarb jam and cook for 8 minutes.
  • Pour the rhubarb jam into clean screw-top jars and keep well chilled.
  • The rhubarb jam also tastes very good with strawberries. Some cinnamon can also be added to the rhubarb jam with apple.
