Ingredients

  • 600 g pike fillet
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 1 onion
  • 1 egg
  • 6-8 tbsp flour
  • 5-7 tbsp water
  • 50 ml vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Cut the pike fillets into small pieces and sprinkle both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Peel the onion and grate finely or chop in a blender.
  3. Mix the egg, onion and flour together in a bowl.
  4. Salt and pepper add and mix with a whisk until smooth.
  5. Pour in cold water until you get a thick, smooth batter.
  6. Heat the oil in a skillet.
  7. Dunk the fish into the batter in batches and sauté for 2-3 minutes of each Sear the side.
  8. Serve the fried pike in onion batter with a salad and sauce of your choice.
