Flounder baked in white wine sauce

  • 1 flounder, medium
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp white wine, dry
  • ½ tsp Italian herbs
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 onion


  1. Descale and gut the flounder, rinse under running water and pat dry.
  2. Then make a few shallow, grid-like incisions on the top.
  3. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  4. Put the butter in a small bowl, melt in the microwave and cool slightly leave.
  5. Add the white wine and Italian herbs and mix.
  6. Place the fish in a casserole dish and pour the white wine sauce over it.
  7. Wash the lemon and cut into slices.
  8. Peel the onion and cut into thin rings.
  9. Then add the lemon slices and place the onion rings with the flounder in the casserole dish.
  10. Bake the fish in the oven at 180° C for approx. 30 minutes.
  11. The cooking time may vary slightly depending on the size of the fish.
