Duck stuffed with apples in a honey glaze from the oven
Ingredients
- 1½ tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp paprika
- 2½ – 3 kg duck
- 5 apples, green, eg Granny Smith
- 50 ml honey
- 50 ml orange juice
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
Utensils

- kitchen twine
- roaster
- kitchen brush
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
- Mix the salt, pepper, garlic and paprika.
- Remove the duck, wash well and pat dry.
- Rub the whole duck with the spice mixture.
- Peel and core the apples and cut into quarters.
- Stuff the duck with apples.
- Tie the legs together with kitchen twine.
- Place the duck in a roasting dish.
- Bake the duck in the oven at 180 °C for 50 minutes.
- Turn the duck over and bake for a further 50 minutes.
- Mix the orange juice with the honey and lemon juice.
- Remove the duck from the oven and brush generously with honey glaze.
- Let the stuffed duck rest for 20 minutes before serving.
