Ingredients

Dough

  • 100 g butter, cold
  • 100 g icing sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 250 g flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder

Filling

  • 500 g quark
  • 30 g sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 500 g apples, peeled, diced
  • 20 g brown sugar
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 250 g baking poppy seeds

Topping

  • 100 g butter
  • 50 g sugar
  • 100 g slivered almonds
  • 30 g cream

Instructions

Knead the dough

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  2. Line the bottom of the springform pan with baking paper.
  3. Put the powdered sugar and vanilla sugar in the mixing bowl of the food processor.
  4. Add the butter, egg, flour and baking powder and knead into a crumbly dough knead.
  5. Pour the dough into the prepared springform pan and smooth it out with your hands.

Prepare the filling and topping

  1. Put the quark, sugar, vanilla sugar and eggs in a bowl.
  2. Stir everything until smooth with a hand mixer.
  3. Spread the poppy seeds evenly over the cake base.
  4. Spread the prepared quark filling on top.
  5. Distribute the apples in cubes over the quark mixture.
  6. Mix the brown sugar with the cinnamon.
  7. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar over the apples.
  8. Prepare the apple pie for approx Bake for 35 minutes at 180°C.
  9. Heat the butter and the sugar in a saucepan.
  10. Add the flaked almonds and cream and mix well.
  11. Put the almond mixture on the pre-baked apple cake.
  12. Keep the cake for a further 20 minutes Bake at 180°C.
  13. Let the apple pie cool down and cut into pieces.
  14. Serve with coffee or tea.
