Ingredients

  • 1¹⁄₂ kg apples, peeled
  • 250 ml water
  • 1¹⁄₂ kg sugar
  • 1 lemon

Instructions

  1. Core the apples, cut into pieces.
  2. Place in a saucepan and add water.
  3. Bring to the boil, cover and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes, until the fruit is soft.
  4. Liquid that will separate after the Pour into another saucepan.
  5. Pure the apples with a hand blender.
  6. Cut the lemon in half.
  7. Cut one half into pieces, press the second half.
  8. Add the sugar to the apple liquid in the saucepan.
  9. Stir constantly Bring to the boil, add ¹⁄₂ teaspoon of lemon juice.
  10. Simmer on a low heat for about 15 minutes.
  11. Stir the syrup from time to time.
  12. Add pieces of half a lemon.
  13. Prepare until the sugar dissolves and the Syrup is clear and thick.
  14. To check if the mixture is ready, spoon out some of the syrup and let it cool slightly.
  15. Try to scoop with two fingers, making sure a thread forms between them.
  16. Put the pureed apples in the syrup, stir.

  19. Pour the jam into sterilized jars and seal with lids.
  20. Pack tightly and allow to cool, the jam will thicken.
