Ingredients

  • 800-1000g apples
  • ½ lemon
  • 50g butter
  • 30g cornstarch
  • 30g flour, + for sprinkling
  • 150g brown sugar
  • ¹⁄₂ – 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 pinch nutmeg
  • 450-500 g puff pastry
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1-2 tbsp nuts, to taste
  • 1 handful of raisins, to taste

Instructions

  1. Peel, core and chop the apples.
  2. Add the lemon juice and 30g melted butter and stir.
  3. Add the starch, flour, sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg and stir again.
  4. Add the chopped nuts and raisins.
  5. Roll out about half of the dough thinly on a floured work surface.
  6. Grease a 10-inch (26 cm) springform pan with vegetable oil.
  7. Place the layer of dough in it and press down on the bottom and sides.
  8. Scatter the apples over the dough .
  9. Roll out the second part of the pastry and cut into several equal strips.
  10. Place the strips on the apples in a grid pattern.
  11. Cut off the excess pastry, pinch the edges of the pastry.
  12. Grush the pastry with the remaining melted butter .
  13. Place the apple pie in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 30 minutes and bake until golden brown.
