Ingredients

Dough

  • 200g dark chocolate
  • 200g butter
  • 4 medium eggs
  • 80g sugar
  • 80g brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 200g ground almonds
  • 2 tsp Baking powder
  • 1 tbsp baking cocoa
  • Gingerbread spice, to taste

Sugar icing

  • 150 g powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp water
  • Sugar sprinkles, to taste

Instructions

  1. Break the chocolate into pieces.
  2. Melt with the butter in a bowl over a hot water bath, stirring constantly.
  3. Beat the eggs with the white and brown sugar, vanilla extract,
  4. gingerbread spice and salt until creamy.
  5. Almonds, baking powder and Mix the baking cocoa.
  6. Stir the dry ingredients alternately with the egg mixture into the liquid chocolate.
  7. Pour the chocolate dough into a baking pan lined with baking paper.
  8. Bake the chocolate cake in a hot oven at 180 degrees for approx. 30-35 minutes
  9. Leave the cake to cool on a wire rack and remove from the tin.
  10. Cut the chocolate cake into triangular pieces.
  11. Put sugar sticks or Mikado sticks in each piece of cake.
  12. For the icing: mix the powdered sugar with a little water.
