Ingredients

  • 1¹⁄₂ tsp olive oil
  • 400g ground turkey
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cups water
  • 800g tomato passata, in their own juice
  • 350g canned kidney beans
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 tbsp chilli, ground
  • ¹⁄₂ tsp paprika
  • ¹⁄₂ tsp oregano, dried
  • ¹⁄₂ tsp cayenne pepper
  • ¹⁄₂ tsp cumin, ground
  • ¹⁄₂ tsp black pepper, ground
  • salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil in a deep pan.
  2. Add the ground turkey to the pan and brown, stirring, over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the finely chopped onions and continue to cook until the onions are soft.
  4. Water, tomato passata, Add the beans and minced garlic and stir.
  5. Add all the spices and mix well. Bring everything to a boil.
  6. Reduce heat to minimum and simmer, stirring, for about 30 minutes.
  7. Chili con carne can be served with bread, rice, pasta, or as a standalone dish.
