Chicken patties with pumpkin and garlic

These ground chicken and pumpkin patties are incredibly tender, super juicy and incredibly delicious. The added pumpkin gives them a slightly nutty, savory note. They taste very good both warm and cold and are not only used for everyday food, but are an absolute hit at a party buffet.

Ingredients

  • 250g squash, eg butternut
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 800-900g minced chicken
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp salt
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 1-2 tbsp flour
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 50-70 ml water
  • 2-3 tbsp semolina, if required

Instructions

  1. Peel the onion and garlic.
  2. Finely chop the onion.
  3. Press the garlic through the garlic press.
  4. Remove the seeds and surrounding flesh from the pumpkin with a spoon.
  5. Peel the butternut pumpkin and grate it coarsely or chop in a blender.
  6. Press off the juice a little.
  7. Mix the minced chicken, pumpkin, egg, onions and garlic in a bowl.
  8. Season with salt and pepper.
  9. Knead the mixture well.
  10. If it is closed Once liquid, add some semolina.
  11. Form small patties from the pumpkin-mince mixture with moistened hands and dredge them in flour.
  12. Heat the oil in a frying pan at medium temperature.
  13. Make 5-6 patties on each side Fry for minutes until golden brown.
  14. Pour in some water.
  15. Cover the pan.
  16. Leave the meatballs to cook for about 10 minutes at a low temperature.

Serve the meatballs with mashed potatoes, salad or pasta.
