Ingredients

  • 10 garlic cloves
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried rosemary
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 60ml olive oil
  • 60ml dry white wine
  • 1200 g chicken fillet
  • 2 bay leaves

Utensils

Instructions

  1. Peel and press the garlic.
  2. Squeeze the juice from the lemon.
  3. For the marinade, mix the garlic, lemon juice, all the spices, salt, oil and white wine in a small bowl with a whisk.
  4. Cut the chicken fillet into bite-sized pieces and Place in a bowl.
  5. Pour the marinade over it.
  6. Mix everything well so that the marinade is evenly distributed.
  7. Mix in the bay leaves.
  8. Cover the meat and place in the fridge for at least 2-4 hours to marinate.
  9. Wooden skewers Soak in cold water for 30-40 minutes.
  10. Put the pieces of meat on the skewers.
  11. Grill the chicken souvlaki for about 5-7 minutes while turning.
  12. Brush the marinade 1-2 times.
  13. You can make souvlaki also bake in the oven at 250°C for approx. 12-15 minutes.
  14. Serve chicken souvlaki with pita bread, tzatziki sauce or Greek salad.
