CBD oils: benefits, side effects, uses in the kitchen

CBD (cannabidiol) is one of the two main active ingredients in cannabis. Unlike THC, CBD is not psychoactive – it does not affect the psyche. Thanks to its many health-promoting effects, CBD oil is considered an all-rounder and a natural alternative to conventional medicines.
CBD oil – the natural alternative
Unlike THC, CBD can be bought in Germany without a prescription. There are many providers who sell CBD oil and other CBD products online, e.g. Some cities also have shops that offer products containing CBD. Since these always contain less than 0.2 percent THC in Germany, they can be legally traded, possessed and consumed.

What is CBD good for?
Cannabidiol is known for its wide range of uses. It acts directly in the brain, but also on nerve endings throughout the body. It also strengthens the immune system. Above all, CBD is known for its anti-anxiety and calming properties. Thus, it is suitable for sleep disorders and anxiety attacks, even panic attacks. Cannabidiol also helps against pimples and acne, and generally ensures clearer skin.
It’s also anti-inflammatory, helping to fight all kinds of inflammation. For example, athletes take CBD for faster muscle regeneration.
Since CBD has antispasmodic properties, it can be used to combat epilepsy and Parkinson’s disease. CBD can relieve symptoms such as restricted mobility and psychosis.

Some studies indicate that cannabidiol can also be used against cancer and diabetes with positive consequences. However, research in this area still needs to be advanced before definitive judgments can be made.
Why does it work?
CBD affects various systems in the human body, including the serotonin and dopamine systems. These provide motivation and feelings of happiness. CBD is a very strong anti-inflammatory and is also rich in minerals and trace elements. All these aspects combine to form a holistic treatment of various health problems.
How to use it?
CBD is mostly sold as an oil. This oil can either be dripped under the tongue or swallowed immediately. It works sublingually after just a few minutes, otherwise the effect occurs after up to half an hour. CBD is also available in many other forms: capsules, creams and chewing gums with CBD content are available.

Does CBD have side effects
Compared to many drugs available in pharmacies, CBD has few and very mild side effects. A fatal or harmful to the body overdose is not possible. However, if the dose is too high, it can cause a dry mouth, drowsiness and a decreased appetite. Low blood pressure and drowsiness have also been reported. CBD should not be taken during pregnancy as it can have negative effects on the placenta.
Use in the kitchen
CBD oil has a relatively distinctive taste of its own. It is therefore not recommended to use the oil raw over e.g. B. Tilting salads. But it is good for cooking and baking. The best way to make CBD butter is to mix it into your desired dishes.

To do this, butter and CBD oil are simmered in a saucepan. After about an hour, the CBD butter is ready. It can be used in cakes or as a spread, for example.
Store CBD oil properly
Since cannabinoids are broken down by exposure to light and heat, CBD oil should be stored in a cool, dark place – e.g. B. in the fridge. But CBD oil can also be stored in the basement or simply in the closet. Most manufacturers sell it in small amber glass bottles. This serves as protection against external environmental influences. This prevents the CBD oil from losing its effectiveness.
Summary
CBD oil is a real all-rounder when it comes to health: it can fight a wide variety of diseases, it also strengthens the immune system and reduces stress. It is easiest to take as drops, but it is also used in the kitchen, e.g. B. in the form of CBD butter. 100% legal, 100% natural, and almost no side effects – CBD is the perfect alternative to conventional medication!
