Burger with caramelized onions and melted cheese
Ingredients
- Caramelized onions
- 2 onions
- 4 tbsp butter
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 tsp sugar
- Garlic sauce
- 2 sprigs basil
- 2 sprigs parsley
- 1 sprig rosemary
- 2 garlic cloves
- 100g mayonnaise
- Black pepper, to taste
- Burger
- 450 g ground beef
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- ½ tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- 4 slices cheese
- 4 burger buns
- 50 g rocket, or lettuce
Utensils

Instructions
- Prepare the caramelized onions
- Peel and slice the onion very thinly.
- Heat the butter in a frying pan.
- Add the onions, sprinkle with salt and sugar.
- Caramelize over a low heat for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally
- Prepare the garlic sauce
- Chop the herbs very finely.
- Press the garlic through the garlic press.
- Mix the mayonnaise with the herbs and garlic and season with pepper.
- Prepare the burger
- Minced meat with salt and pepper in a bowl.
- Form 4 patties out of the minced meat mixture.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan.
- Met half the butter.
- Fry the patties over a very high heat for 2-3 minutes.
- Then turn the patties and Cook for a further 2 minutes.
- Place a slice of cheese on each patty.
- Cook for a further minute, until cheese is melted.
- Cut the buns in half lengthways and brush with the remaining butter.
- Roast in a pan until golden brown.
- Then spread the garlic sauce on the bun halves.
- Place the rocket salad, patty and caramelized onions on the bottom half of the bun.
- Cover with the top half of the bun and serve immediately.
