Ingredients

  • 1 kg apples
  • 1 kg pears
  • 1¹⁄₂ kg sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Peel and core the apples and pears and cut into small pieces.
  2. Put the fruit in a saucepan.
  3. Add the sugar, stir gently and leave covered for 1-2 hours.
  4. Stir thoroughly and bring the mixture to a boil .
  5. Reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. Remove the jam from the heat and leave for 2-3 hours.
  7. Add the cinnamon.
  8. Return to the boil, simmer for 5 minutes and allow to cool slightly.
  9. Boil briefly again and immediately pour the pear jam into clean jam jars.
  10. Close the jars and put the pear jam in a cool, dark place after it has cooled.
