Ingredients

Dough

  • 150 g sugar
  • 200 g butter
  • 300 g flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 packet vanilla sugar
  • 1 tbsp milk

Topping

  • 1 kg apples
  • 100 g walnuts
  • 1 pack vanilla sugar
  • 5 tsp water
  • 4 tbsp sugar

Instructions

Prepare the topping

  1. Peel the apples, cut them into small pieces and mix them in a saucepan with the roughly chopped walnuts.
  2. Add the sugar, vanilla sugar and water and allow to boil until the apples are soft and allow to cool.

Prepare the dough

  1. Sugar, butter , flour, egg, baking powder, vanilla sugar and milk to prepare a shortcrust pastry.
  2. Line the bottom and sides of a springform pan with 2/3 of the dough.
  3. Pour the apple-walnut mixture on top and smooth it out.
  4. The rest of the dough sprinkle on top.
  5. Bake the apple pie on the middle shelf at 200°C for approx. 25-30 minutes.
